Center for Human Values, Ethics and Life Skills

In a constantly changing environment, a strong value system and life skills are an essential part of being able to meet the challenges of everyday life.

The sole aim of this program is to help young students develop wholesome personalities, positive attitudes and help them bring out their inherent human values. The goal is to raise their self-confidence with development of life skills, such as leadership, stress management, and time management that empower them to overcome challenges of their everyday lives and to encourage them to seek a higher purpose of existence, and to inspire them through examples of great men and women.

Life skills go well beyond choosing a course in college or impressing a potential employer in the future. Life skills provide students with important tools for development, such as independent thinking, how to socialize and make new friends, and how to take action in situations where their parents or teachers may not be around to help or intervene and to help them to cope up with personal insecurities and fears. Unlike motor skills and basic intelligence, executive function and decision making skills are not inborn but can be learned.

Objective:

The Human Values, Ethics and life skills course tries to achieve the following objectives.

1. To develop a critical ability to distinguish between values, ethics and professional skills, so as to ensure sustained happiness and prosperity which are the core aspirations of all human beings.

2. To facilitate the development of a holistic perspective among students towards life, profession and happiness. To equip them well to make good decisions and solve problems in their academic and professional careers as well as their personal lives.

Media Production Centre

The Media Production Centre was set up in the year 2018. As we all know, in today's world information is the real power. The world is divided not only on the basis of the rich and the poor in terms of wealth but also on the basis of information. Those who possess the information are rich and those who don't are poor. That's why the rich countries not only control the economy but also the flow of information and the primary source of information these days is Media. We can easily say that we are living in the age of Media. Media plays an important role in shaping our world view. Media acts as a medium of communication between us and the world. There are three important roles of media, ie to Inform, to educate and to entertain. The media is so powerful in today's scenario that it can change any cultural, political and social landscape. As they say the greater the power, greater the responsibility. This is the philosophy and the idea behind the setting up of a Media Production Centre. The centre will work as a centre of media literacy. Media Production Centre has its own studio with state-of-the-art equipment like Video Camera, DSLR, Mixers, Microphones etc. and a Media Lab with modern computers.

The primary objective of the Media Production Centre is to provide hands on training to the students of Mass Communication in the field of media production in which they learn the process of different stages of media Production like pre-production, production and post production. Through this process they learn to write, edit, handle the camera, light, music, graphic design etc. Second objective of the centre is to produce educational videos. Third objective is to publish and broadcast major events of the college.
